Obituary for Lance Wagner

Lance Wagner
Lance Wagner
July 19, 1963-May 29, 2012
Lance David Wagner, age 48, passed away at home with his family at his side, on May 29, 2012, after a long and determined battle with cancer. Lance was born in Reno, NV on July 19, 1963, and was a life-long resident of Nevada. He graduated from Sparks High School in 1981.
He was a man of many interests, particularly the great outdoors. He loved to shoot, hunt, quad-riding, motorcycles, classic cars, Hot August Nights, the San Francisco Giants, and San Diego Chargers. He was a carpenter by trade and a talented craftsman by desire, and built many custom homes while working for Wasik Construction. Lance’s greatest joy was his family. He loved family parties, holidays, camp-outs, and most of all, his wife and daughters.
Lance was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Danny and Dorothy Carrara; and by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Mary Wagner. Lance is survived by his loving wife, Renee; daughters, Alicia and Alaina, all of Reno; and son Brandon Kast, U.S. Marine Corps. He is also survived by his mother, Sandra Wagner of Verdi; father, Dale Wagner (Brenda Toriyama) of Reno; brother-in-law Kyle McMahon (Jennifer) of Sparks; father-in-law Glenn McMahon (Jan) of Reno; uncles: Danny Carrara (Darlene) of New York State, and Lornie Wagner (Charlotte) of Reno; and numerous cousins. He was much loved and will be missed by all of his family, his great number of close friends and many co-workers. At Lance’s request, he will be cremated and there will be no services. However, a celebration of Lance’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Moxie’s Restaurant, 4792 Caughlin Parkway, Reno, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alicia and Alaina Wagner Educational Trust Fund. Please make checks payable to: Fidelity Advisor 529, c/o Chris Hall, Wells Fargo Advisors, 2 Grant Street, 1st Floor, and San Francisco, CA 94108.
