One-of-a Kind

The three photos of Shirley with friends were selected for inclusion because they demonstrate Shirley’s basic “people personality.”  She was at her best with others.  The one of her sitting on the floor at the Porter house is most true to her character.  She was great at making comical faces and coming out with humorous off-the-cuff statements.  Moreover, whatever she was doing, she projected an energy and enthusiasm that was catching.  In the one with our Tau Sig sorority sisters (surprisingly in Iowa City rather than in Cedar Falls), she is more subdued, but I’m guessing she is already expecting David.  And I have to add that Shirley was generous with her talents.  Each time we gathered in Waterloo, she would reveal a bag of the great jewelry that she had made and commence happily and freely distributing wonderful pieces into the eager hands of her long-time friends from high school.  Shirley was and continues to be a priceless loving person.  Signed with her names for us:   Jimbo and Ging-Pie
